Privacy Policy

Plain-language privacy for a DIY pool care education site. We are not a social network and we do not sell your personal information.

Last updated: July 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Splash101 (“we,” “us”) handles information when you visit splash101.com (the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Who we are

Splash101 publishes educational content about residential pool and spa water care. Contact: admin@splash101.com.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide

If you email us, we receive the address you send from, the message content, and any details you include. We use that only to respond or to handle your request. We do not run a public user account system on this Site.

2.2 Automatic / technical data

Like most websites, our host and infrastructure may log:

  • IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser type, and device type
  • Pages requested, referring URL, date/time, and basic error logs
  • Cookies or similar storage required for security, load balancing, or preferences

2.3 Analytics

We may use privacy-conscious analytics (for example, cookieless or first-party analytics) to understand aggregate traffic—which pages are useful, which devices people use—not to build advertising profiles of individuals. If we use a third-party analytics provider, that provider’s own privacy policy also applies to data they process.

2.4 Affiliate and retailer sites

When you click a product link (including Amazon Associates links tagged with splash101-20), you leave Splash101 and go to a third-party site. Those sites may set their own cookies and collect data under their privacy policies—not ours. See also our Affiliate Disclosure.

3. How we use information

  • Operate, secure, and improve the Site
  • Measure aggregate content performance
  • Respond to email and legal requests
  • Enforce our Terms of Service

We do not sell personal information and we do not rent email lists. We do not use Site contact email for third-party marketing blasts.

If you are in a region that requires a legal basis for processing (for example, the EEA/UK), we rely on: legitimate interests (running a content site, security, analytics in aggregate), contract/responding to your request when you email us, and consent where required for non-essential cookies or similar technologies.

5. Sharing

We may share limited data with:

  • Service providers who host the Site, deliver email, or provide analytics—only as needed to perform those services
  • Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or security
  • Business transfers if Splash101 assets are transferred, subject to this policy or successor notice

6. Retention

Server logs are kept only as long as reasonably needed for security and operations. Email correspondence is kept as long as needed to resolve your request and for ordinary business records, then deleted or archived under our normal practices.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to a content site (HTTPS, access controls on publishing systems). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Children

The Site is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact admin@splash101.com and we will delete it where required.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal data, or to object to certain processing. Email admin@splash101.com with “Privacy request” in the subject. We may need to verify your request. You may also complain to a data protection authority in your region.

California / similar US state laws: We do not “sell” or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly defined. We do not use sensitive personal information for profiling in the sense of a consumer data marketplace.

10. International visitors

The Site may be hosted in the United States or other countries. If you visit from elsewhere, your information may be processed in the U.S. or where our providers operate, which may have different data-protection rules than your country.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the revised policy.
